On August 11, OZ attended the one year anniversary celebration of the Sam Gary Branch in Denver, CO. The branch, part of the Denver Public Library District, has welcomed 195,000 visitors, circulated almost 750,000 items, and offered more than 520 programs since it opened its doors in 2012.
Located on a corner site in the New Urbanism Stapleton community, Sam Gary Branch is designed to be a vibrant activity center for the neighborhood. This is the first branch library that synthesizes DPL’s innovative “Children and Family” and “Contemporary” styles into one library. In addition, this branch emphasizes the needs of a technology-enabled adult demographic.
The Sam Gary Branch is LEED Gold Certified with the US Green Building Council.
