OZ project, Harvest by Kelly Liken at the Sonnenalp Club, has won the BESTaward in the Play category from the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Rocky Mountain Chapter.
“The BESTawards is a design excellence awards program that recognizes interior design projects going beyond a pretty picture and truly encompassing Brilliantly Executed Spaces and Thinking. We recognize that successful interior design requires a collaboration between many disciplines, consultant teams, project managers, vendors, contractors, manufacturer reps, etc; therefore the awards will acknowledge all who contribute to the projectʼs success.” – IIDA
Harvest by Kelly Liken is located within the Sonnenalp Club (also designed by OZ,) and provides a gathering space for the local community and visitors to the mountain town of Edwards, CO, just outside of Vail. Our design was inspired by the concept of a harvest, making the restaurant fresh and approachable with a Provençal feel. The space features uninterrupted views of the surrounding valley, utilizes unique pattern play, and has an open terrace providing an enlivened platform for acclaimed chef, Kelly Liken’s locally sourced menu to flourish. Our design team really enjoyed working with the client to create this fresh environment, so it’s truly fitting to win in the “Play” category. We are thrilled to have received this award.
Here is what the IIDA judges had to say about the design:
“Love the ‘less is more’ vibe that very clearly comes across in this space. The mix of materials is very pleasing and interesting, without at all being too much; all finishes seem very thoughtful and provide a great deal of warmth throughout the space. Love the attention given to the ceiling plane as well! Really provides a well-rounded package in all cases. Design absolutely supports the concept of the restaurant. Overall, well done and incredibly thoughtful!”
