In February, OZ Architecture received the 2017 NEWH Award for Top Interior Design firms in the Rocky Mountain region. This prestigious honor from the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH), known colloquially as The Hospitality Industry Network, is awarded to recognize and support excellence in hospitality design. Winners are selected based on a firm’s quality design work in the hospitality industry. Top interior design firms are also celebrated internationally as industry professionals to watch.
OZ earned this award for its breadth of design experience and expertise, evidenced by projects like the rapidly expanding national “eatertainment” concept, Punch Bowl Social, as well as Harvest by Kelly Liken and its home in the newly remodeled Sonnenalp Club, both designed by OZ.
OZ Interior and Architectural Designer, Narisara Sarobhas, accepted the award during the 2017 NEWH National Leadership Conference in February.
Sarobhas’ personal connection to the NEWH adds an uplifting layer to this OZ success story. As a CSU college student in 2013, Sarobhas applied for and received the NEWH Scholarship, a fund awarded to qualifying students working toward their undergraduate degrees in the hospitality industry. After receiving the scholarship award at the 2013 NEWH Scholarship Award night, Sarobhas networked with OZ professionals and eventually landed a full-time position with the firm.
Shortly thereafter, she was elected to be the Scholarship Director of NEWH, helping scholarship candidates apply for the award as she once did. Today, she serves as the NEWH Marketing Director in addition to her role at OZ and makes a point to help connect future architecture and design professionals with opportunities at OZ. Now that OZ has been recognized as a top interior design firm in the region, that connection is even more meaningful.
OZ is proud to support the growth and development of present and future design professionals in hospitality and other industries, and this award reinforces our steadfast commitment to our team and our craft.
