Later this month, OZ Architecture Principal and Senior Living lead Jami Mohlenkamp will lead a session during Denver Startup Week, a celebration of everything entrepreneurial in Denver. The weeklong event aims to unite the entrepreneurial community in Denver, with sessions focused on innovative and inspiring ideas some of the best business minds and community leaders in the metro area.
In the format of a panel discussion, Jami, along with OZ designers, Julia Bailey and Julie Zielinski, will share their research and experience in designing for aging populations, with a goal of sparking meaningful connections and shifting our perception of the future of design. The panel will also include the expertise of Shawn O’Connor with Cushman & Wakefield, and Jayne Keller of Christian Living Communities and will touch on ways we can forge connections between technology and the aging, with emphasis on designing a more accessible world—whether you are 33 or 83. The team will talk about how we can create environments, products, and services that enhance and enable mobility and independence, and how thoughtful design can improve our quality of life well into our later years.
Using a set of virtual reality goggles, participants will have the chance to “step inside” a senior living micro-housing unit as well as view mobility and transportation prototypes from the not-too-distant future.
OZ Architecture is proud to have a voice in the conversation surrounding the future of design for aging populations. Jami will present on Tuesday, September 26 at OZ Architecture’s Larimer office.
