This weekend, Punch Bowl Social Stapleton’s 10th location will open in the former Stapleton air traffic control tower building. After a long time in the making due to the particular adaptive reuse nature of the dilapidated building, OZ Architecture designed this historic preservation project from start to finish over the past two years. The project required in-depth infrastructure improvements as well as adding a brand-new 6,000-square-foot wing on the ground floor, as well as an expansive outdoor space including bocce courts, fire pits, and an 18-inch-deep “swimming pool” where guests can sip cocktails while playfully pretending to dip their feet in.
OZ designers have ensured that all Punch Bowl Socials incorporate a sense of locality in the interior design, and the Stapleton restaurant and “eat-ertainment” space is no different. Inside, aesthetic themes of the “golden age of flight” take shape in the décor (colorful suitcases stacked from floor to ceiling) as well as the menu, with items like the “In-flight Snack” (chile-lime fried peanuts) and Aviation cocktail (Breckenridge Gin, Crème de Violette, Luxardo Maraschino and fresh lemon juice).
We at OZ Architecture are thrilled to have contributed to yet another successful Punch Bowl Social opening, this time in our own home town.
