OZ Architecture’s Rebecca (Becky) Stone to Inspire Future Women Leaders at the Urban Land Institute’s WLI Leadership Connection Series

OZ Architecture Managing Principal Becky Stone will speak at the upcoming Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) Leadership Connection Series, a ULI Colorado event series designed to provide women in the commercial real estate industry a chance to share their career journey and lessons learned while connecting with future women leaders.

Becky Stone is celebrating her 20th year with OZ, and is currently Managing Principal of the 165-person, Denver-based firm. She leads the Resort and Hospitality practice area and has worked on dozens of prominent resorts across the U.S. as well as many of Colorado’s iconic projects including the Snowmass Viceroy and the nationally recognized Punch Bowl Social in Stapleton, which repurposed the abandoned airport traffic control tower. Her extensive experience has also given her a unique and inherent understanding of the best way to create a sense of place — whether in an urban setting, the mountains, or by the sea.

In addition to her work with clients, Becky embraces the opportunity to serve as a mentor to OZ staff, and is excited for the chance to connect with women in the real estate and development industry.

“I never intended to become a role model for women who aspire to leadership positions in architecture, construction, engineering, real estate and development,” said Stone. “I just worked hard and I love what I do. In doing so, I realize now that I have become a pioneering female in the A&E Industry. As far as I know, in Colorado, I’m the only woman leading an architecture firm of our size and scale, and to me, that speaks to the culture of OZ and to my spirit. I hope by sharing my story, I might inspire, mentor and encourage more women to embrace leadership roles.”

Becky serves on the ULI Colorado Resort, Entertainment, Tourism and Leisure (RETL) Council, the CO ULI Impact Awards Council, and the National ULI Recreational Development Product Council. She is also currently one of twelve tapped ULI members to sit on the ULI Global Awards of Excellence jury.

The mission of the WLI is to raise the visibility, increase women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry, and promote the advancement of women in leadership positions.

This event will take place at OZ Architecture on Thursday, August 9 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Guests may register here.
