Located in a historic landmark building, Bryant-Webster serves 550 students in this dual language K-8 school. Adding to an existing library that was half the needed size was challenging — a tight urban site limited addition options and the building’s landmark status required expensive duplication of intricate exterior brickwork. The design solution: excavate an existing crawl space and locate non-classroom functions there, then remodel existing space into a new library. Additional modifications accommodate the requirements of a middle school curriculum.
