The Rwanda University of Medicine and Health Sciences will bring the national school of medicine together with a nursing school and allied health sciences. Schools of pharmacy, dentistry, and clinical psychology will be added to this educational component of a new campus co-located with the country’s healthcare center, King Faisal Hospital. National Health Research Institutes will also be housed here to enhance the synergy of an integrated clinical, academic, and research community.
The National Reference Quality Control Laboratory is the first phase of the campus. Supporting the Ministry of Health’s mission for disease prevention, the building houses biosafety Level 3 laboratories and instrumentation for analyzing biological samples within a carefully designed containment barrier.
