With Concepting Help from OZ, Mission Ballroom Development Earns Prestigious Award

March 6, 2020

The development that includes Denver’s Mission Ballroom is earning accolades to match the acclaim showered on the new music venue’s interiors and sound quality.

Mission Ballroom and its developers, Westfield Company Inc. and AEG Presents, won “Development Deal of the Year” from NAOIP Colorado, earning top honors over the Foundry, the other finalist in that category. It was a win-win for OZ Architecture, which had important roles in both projects, providing the original master plan and concepting for the broader North Wynkoop site on which Mission Ballroom is located, as well as the master plan and entitlements for the Foundry, an iconic multi-block mixed-use redevelopment in Loveland, Colorado’s historic downtown.

Mission Ballroom opened its doors in August 2019, anchoring a six-block, 13-acre mixed-use project in the northern part of RiNo, one of Denver’s hottest neighborhoods for entertainment, dining and urban living. Following the master plan originally scripted by OZ, the immediate area around the venue continues to develop and integrate with the surrounding neighborhood.
