Denver Fire Department, Lowry Station No. 18

Creating a new neighborhood in Denver’s Lowry redevelopment area presented OZ with the opportunity to design an iconic community support building. Denver Fire Department, Station Number 18 anchors a key intersection in the former US Air Force Base that has been redeveloped into a mixed-use, sustainable community. The Fire Department requested a traditional architectural style accommodating numerous training opportunities for the firefighters on site. They received a flagship building with the latest fire technologies, comfortable accommodations, and gathering spaces.
