Escuela Valdez was part of Denver Public Schools 2012 bond projects, an elementary remodel and addition. This school serves families from diverse socioeconomic and linguistic backgrounds. This challenging remodel required the students to relocate for one year while the two-story portion of the school was gutted and transformed into a day lit atrium surrounded by dual-language classroom groups, each with shared open spaces that provide flexibility in both learning and instruction.
