We’re excited to announce another new video series at OZ Architecture: Behind the Design. First up, our Civic Practice Area leaders explore the drivers behind a recent award-winning station’s design here in Colorado and its impact on first responders.
In this episode, OZ Associate Principal Eric Becker highlights how the team designed South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) Station No. 20 with the specific needs of this wildland fire team in mind. From blackout curtains to help improve firefighter sleep to efficient apparatus bay doors to improve response times, each element of station design is highly considered to optimize first responder experience and, in turn, performance.
Stay tuned as we continue to explore the innovative and purposeful design choices that shape the spaces we inhabit. OZ remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of architectural excellence, creating environments that meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and the communities they serve.
