This month, Snowmass Base Village celebrated its grand opening after a 10-year re-development process. Since 2002, OZ has been involved in the mountain re-development designing two gems of the base village, the Limelight Hotel, and Lumin Residences after previously working on the Viceroy just down the road.
The Limelight and Lumin flank the center of the plaza where the community and visitors gathered to be a part of the grand opening action. The lighting ceremony kicked off the party with speeches from Mayor Markey Butler, and World Champion Skier, Chris Davenport, followed by live music and fireworks. One of the highlights was the official opening of the five-story climbing wall in the Limelight hotel – an awesome addition for the active resort visitor of today.
The OZ design team attended the celebration to reflect on a job well done and many years of hard work. “It really does feel like the new living room of Snowmass. The whole town came out for the grand opening,” said OZ designer, Casey Roberts. OZ is grateful to have been a partner to the many who contributed to the new Snowmass Base Village.
