OZ Architecture Designs Mixed-Use Project at 28th and Blake

June 5, 2018

The Denver Post recently revealed one of OZ Architecture’s most anticipated local projects: LOT Twenty Eight.

This project, from local developer FORMATIV, encompasses the redevelopment of a 45,000-square-foot former warehouse located at the intersection of 28th Street and Blake Street, in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood. The defining feature of the project is the 20,000 square-foot urban, outdoor patio designed in collaboration with Wenk Associates. This hidden oasis is meant to foster community, inspire connectivity, and act as a neighborhood gathering place. Events from yoga classes to bike-in movie nights will drive the community aspect of the new space, with both sensory and visual green spaces for the public and customers to enjoy.

While much of the attention rests on the exterior, maintaining the character of these old buildings while addressing modern code requirements, the building’s interior will also see a refresh and result in a mixture of retail, creative office, and food and beverage concepts. Additionally, there will be 2,400 square-feet of dedicated interior event space, playing host to rotating art shows and available for public and private rental.

This project is both literally and figuratively “green” because it creates an urban oasis of lawn and trees while repurposes existing buildings, which is far more sustainable than building new. It couldn’t be more appropriate that this uniquely “green” project is right in our backyard!

The project is slated to be complete in 2019.
