Anschutz Engineering Center, University of Colorado Colorado Springs

Located in the heart of the UCCS campus, the Anschutz Engineering Center will be foundational to that campus’ nascent aerospace engineering program. The project consists of a 20,000 sf lab building housing teaching and research spaces, and a detached 3,000 sf shop building dedicated to prototyping and fabrication. The building was carefully sited to preserve a sacred Native American “Tree of Peace” while also managing existing drainage patterns and presenting an appropriate face to the primary campus circulation spine. Construction will begin this fall, and the facility is set to open in time to host students in the spring semester of 2024.
