Labriola Innovation Complex, Colorado School of Mines

As part of the Colorado School of Mines Entrepreneurship and Innovation program, the Labriola Innovation Complex will serve as a state-of-the-art location for students to cultivate their entrepreneurship and innovation skills, allowing them to advance both passion projects and class projects. The complex will be a campus wide resource, designed to showcase student innovation and encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Our primary focus was to enable hands-on learning in a unique makerspace environment, designing collaborative spaces for first-year students and senior capstone students alike. The complex consists of a 37,000 sf innovation hub, a 9,000 sf shops building and a 3,000 sf faculty office. Our design included collaboration spaces, design classrooms, and varying lab spaces — everything needed to design, prototype, and test new inventions, products and code.
