The Denver-based dining and entertainment emporium brought Punch Bowl Social’s signature promise of culinary excellence and “old school” entertainment to Chicago’s West Loop in 2018. In the essential Punch Bowl Social fashion, the Chicago venue seamlessly blends the history and lifestyle of the neighborhood with a bona fide Punch Bowl Social feel. The space is suited with an industrial look inspired by the history of the surrounding Fulton Market District, which was once a filled with meatpacking warehouses built in the 1800’s. The OZ design team was able to preserve the original building’s charm while adapting the meatpacking use to an ‘eatertainment’ venue. An especially unique feature of the Chicago Punch Bowl Social is the diner-esque bar area where the original warehouse windows were repurposed, and a recreation of a laundromat complete with faux-vintage pastel washing machines that line the walls.
