The new Rocky Mountain Rescue Group headquarters blends function, sustainability, and community stewardship. This three-level building houses emergency vehicle bays, training areas, offices, and inviting common spaces seamlessly integrated with the landscape. Inspired by Boulder’s cliffs, forests, and Flatirons, it features colored concrete panels, reused sandstone, and brick. Aiming for net-zero energy, the headquarters' design incorporates daylight modeling, photovoltaics, a geo-exchange system, and carbon-negative materials. It balances critical technical needs with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, reflecting the group’s ties to Boulder County while supporting their critical work in mountain rescue and community service.
