Rocky Vista University Ivins

Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine is a state-of-the-art medical school. The building footprint articulates the program, grouping complementary educational functions into three volumes. Together the volumes create a unique geometry featuring independently sloped roofs which reflect the bluffs and plateaus on the horizon while complementing the dramatic “Big Red Mountain” to the north. It was fundamentally important that the common areas engage the outdoors, both visually and functionally. Classrooms and lecture halls were designed to incorporate the latest medical education practices and theories. State-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and technology was installed to maximize learning capacity.
