A popular boutique hotel in downtown Denver’s theater district, Hotel Teatro was ready for a renovation of its first floor public spaces. OZ redesigned the first floor, reconfiguring the reception area/entry and repurposing space for a new restaurant concept, The Nickel. Part of the space became The Study, a comfortable lounge with a coffee and wine bar where hotel guests can enjoy morning coffee, sit by the fire to work or read, or unwind at the end of the business day. The high-end Nickel occupies a prime corner space with bright open windows, high ceilings, a zinc top bar tucked under the mezzanine and a fresh color palette of blues and pops of red. Small barrels used to age The Nickel’s signature hand-crafted cocktails are highlighted in the bar design. Hotel Teatro remained open throughout the fast-track construction.
