This week, OZ Architecture joined the ranks of prestigious companies such as Google, Microsoft, Herman Miller, and Nike when it was selected as a finalist in the Fast Company 2018 Innovation by Design Awards.
OZ is being honored in the Spaces, Places and Cities category for its work on the master plan for the new McMurdo Station in Antarctica. After nearly 60 years, the research center at the bottom of the world now has a new visionary master plan and design facilities, all designed by OZ Architecture, which “will vastly improve the livability, efficiency and sustainability of this entire Antarctica-based community,” says Principal Rick Petersen, FAIA.
Being recognized as a finalist for this national award demonstrates how OZ extends much further beyond Colorado, and even beyond the U.S. Although the company is based in Denver, their talented groups of renowned designers are bringing exciting, boundary-pushing ideas to places around the world.
The Innovation by Design awards honor creative work at the intersection of design, business, and innovation, recognizing people, teams and companies who solve problems and create solutions through exceptional design to. Fast Company editors and writers spend a year researching and reviewing applicants for the awards, and OZ Architecture is thrilled to be honored as a finalist.
