OZ Architecture Represents Leadership and Creativity at LeadingAge Colorado 2019

June 17, 2019

At the LeadingAge Colorado conference in Vail last month, OZ Architecture’s senior living team represented creativity and leadership across two different panels.

Senior Associate Angela Gunn helped lead a panel called “Shake It Up With the Architects”, an interactive experience intended to engage non-designers in conversations about the latest innovations and programmatic elements in senior living community design.

This panel focus on programmed areas including dining venues, corridors, staff spaces, underutilized spaces, and more. Along with leaders from three other architecture firms, Angela facilitated an engaging workshop geared toward an audience of operators, owners and enrichment directors. The event involved opportunities to view images of different spaces and discuss what stood out to them and how new ideas might come to life in existing spaces. The goal was to discuss new possibilities within the built environment in a way that was fun, conversational and memorable.

Senior Living practice area lead and Principal Jami Mohlenkamp also spoke on and moderated a panel at LeadingAge Colorado. His panel focused on the effects a company’s culture has on building design. Jami and the other panelists discussed how the built environments affects long-term residential health and well-being, staff satisfaction and visitor perception and comfort.

Alongside panelists whose experience spanned architecture and leadership roles in older adult living spaces, Jami led an engaging discussion about how an organization’s mission and values can fit into a marketable residential building.

OZ is proud to have had a presence at LeadingAge Colorado, and we look forward to continuing to be part of the conversation about senior living community design.
