With a history as an important agricultural center in Colorado, Longmont has grown into one of metro Denver’s fastest growing suburban communities. Located just south of Longmont’s downtown on a former sugar beet field, the Longmont Museum’s building forms echo the silos and sheds that once dotted the landscape. The Museum houses galleries, archives, education areas, administration, and exhibit handling/prep workrooms. An outdoor amphitheater occupies a 3,000 sf space created by the wrap of the building. A showcase for the evolving identity of the community, the Museum has taken its place as a civic landmark.
